Photo Update

04 July 2010 by Scunny Independent News

Just updated the Photos section of the web site with some new photos sent in from Hamst showing more building work around the town along with a nice shot of Trent view looking up Bridges Road. I'll try to complement that with a few shots of my own as I'll be installing some radio gear up there some time over the summer, so I'm hoping the weather will be nice. There are also some nice photos of the armed forces day down at Quibel park including a good aerial shot of the spitfire taken by Bill. If any one has any of the parade through the town, please mail them across to me (thoades@hotmail.com) and I'll add. I think a lot of people missed the parade due to a mess up with the time (reported as 11:00 am in the telegraph). I've added a couple of my own photos, some from a job I was doing installing wimax broadband on the roofs down at Flixborough, and quite a nice one showing what looks like a new climbing frame being built in Central Park. Looking at that I can guarantee I'll be down there early one morning trying it out, looks fantastic! I've also (sadly) included a photograph of the vandalised St George's display in the park, I'd really appreciate it if any one has a photo of it in its full glory, the sad thing is it was just coming in to full bloom. Once again, any photos of any parts of Scunthorpe warmly welcome, I'd like to try to build a picture of all parts of Scunthorpe and how it changes over time. Just remember they must be YOUR own work. Once again, I'm really thankful for the contributions so far received, please keep them coming!

Mission Statement

Visit Scunthorpe is North Lincolnshire's only truly independent, non commercial, community news web site.

Established in January 2010 we have lots of members with a wide range of views who all contribute independently with articles of their own.

You won't find dozens of adverts covering our site, or some poor attempt to promote local business services under the guise of offering a community service.

Here on VisitScunthorpe we are interested in just one thing, building an online community which is representative of the people of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.

Paul. Founder Visit Scunthorpe.

How it Works

If you would like to have the ability to add articles and comments to Visit Scunthorpe then all you need to do is sign up with a valid email address for an account. This is free, your email address is confidential and we don't send out spam emails.

Once you've completed the sign up then you are free to post and comment on well... pretty much anything, we just have some basic civilised rules to prevent people from inciting violence, hatred or making individual attacks.
