News of the world out now!

16 July 2011 by Paul Rhoades

It's taken a week and it's the first one I've found but it looks like there's a new news of the world available as a free PDF download. Not sure if we should class this as politics or humour, but as we dont have a humour section yet, it's gone in politics!

Do be warned however, it's not for the feint hearted, and is essentially what could be expected if the contributors of Class War took over the offices of private eye for the day!

Thinking about that, it would probably be a good read!

Oh and there's a crossword, you must do the crossword if nothing else!

Next week, select committee bullshit bingo cards (allegedly)

Perhaps if the Murdoch press had reported more like this, they would still be in business.

Well done to all involved, whoever you are!

If you have any more news of the world downloads please add them in the comments section!

On a much more serious note, here's an article I have just put together sharing my thoughts on the sad closure of the Evening Telegraph as a daily news paper and the impact this will have on the community:

Brilliant stuff. Absolutely top drawer parody.

If only there could be equally admirable efforts to emulate an online version for a new daily Telegraph.

And thereby expose, discredit and mock North Lincolnshire's own pockets of poor calibre and disreputable political, local government and media shenanigans!? Even moreso,  Scunthorpe's alleged "crock of corrupt politicians on all sides"!

Putting other dubious and delusional hype aside, now that would really would be Scunthorpe going some way and taking credible and REAL steps towards "forging its future fortunes"!!

Mission Statement

Visit Scunthorpe is North Lincolnshire's only truly independent, non commercial, community news web site.

Established in January 2010 we have lots of members with a wide range of views who all contribute independently with articles of their own.

You won't find dozens of adverts covering our site, or some poor attempt to promote local business services under the guise of offering a community service.

Here on VisitScunthorpe we are interested in just one thing, building an online community which is representative of the people of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.

Paul. Founder Visit Scunthorpe.

How it Works

If you would like to have the ability to add articles and comments to Visit Scunthorpe then all you need to do is sign up with a valid email address for an account. This is free, your email address is confidential and we don't send out spam emails.

Once you've completed the sign up then you are free to post and comment on well... pretty much anything, we just have some basic civilised rules to prevent people from inciting violence, hatred or making individual attacks.
