New Car Park Ticket Machines

15 January 2012 by Hamst

North Lincolnshire Council have announced it is updating the ticket machines in nine of its car parks.

New pay and display machines are being fitted in all the car parks where motorists now benefit from either one or two hours free parking.

These include Home Street, Mary Street (Co-op) and the market car park in Scunthorpe, Old Courts Road and The Angel in Brigg, and Ashby High Street, Alexandra Road, School Road and Bottesford Road in Ashby.

Car park users will find them easy to use and more reliable than the older machines.

They will need to key in their complete vehicle registration number when taking a ticket rather than just the numbers as they do now.

This means tickets will be unique to each vehicle and will mean civil enforcement officers can spend less time patrolling car parks and more time on the streets.

The existing machines date back to 1998 and needed updating.

Free parking was introduced in nine North Lincolnshire car parks in September.

The council is reminding people using the car parks that they still need a ticket from the pay and display machines even when they are parking for free.
