Very exciting news, we've just received an email from Scunthorpe's MP Nic Dakin saying that the plans to Scrap the NHS Direct have them selves been scrapped! This is excellent news to every one in Scunthorpe as it means that this essential service will be maintained. Many readers having read our earlier article have taken their time to sign the petition set up by John Prescott, and by doing so have demonstrated that when there is a cutback that they feel is unpopular they can do something about it!
