Mick's local election's reflection

19 May 2011 by fans64

Why is this man allowed to be in politics,he is not in it for the good of the people of North Lincolnshire ,he is in it for the Labour Party only. In his reflections I have not seen one promise to work for the good of Scunthorpe just a promise to oppose the Tories in every way he can.

If all this man wants to do is be a mouth piece for Labour and just spew anti Tory rhetoric then he should be a paid Labour activist from Labour party funds not a Councillor for North Lincolnshire, this sort of politics makes me seethe.Mick work for North Lincolnshire. ,not the party ,or stand down from the council.

It's not abut who's n charge but what they actually do,it's no wonder Scunthorpe is a laughing stock when all of our local politicians are only interested in points scoring and not serving the community

It is my belief that NLC Labour cllr Mick Grant has to be amongst the most odious politicians that I and others have ever had the misfortune to come across. Trust me that is some feat after my experience and observation of the standards of performance and the "political calibre, integrity and credibility" of NLC's Brigg & Wolds conservative councillors, past and present.

That's just abuse Bill.Mick and many others on our council still think the electorate only buy the paper that spews their doctrine and despite embracing the internet they still believe that people only have the capacity to only see their one sided view of life, they can't understand that it's not the Mirror and The Telegraph any more, we have a whole world of information at our fingertips and we can see through party political biased spin .They are a dying breed who have left Britain a husk , like the dinosaurs they will die out and a new breed of real thinkers will take their places

Fansy, I totally agree and I am with you all the way. Except perhaps for your 1st and final points. In relation to your 1st and valid point. Having tried the honourable and democratic approach of constructive discussion, challenges, petitions, complaints; negotiation and compromise to no avail. And given the proven "political insincerity, lack of calibre and sense of selfless democracy" of many with N Lincs local govenment. I choose not to waste any more of my time or values on these people. Besides time that some of them had a taste of their own medicine. I am not convinced by your very final point. The N Lincs electorate had its ideal opportunity on May 5 to elect some credible independant candidates and hopefully the beginnings of a new breeed of real political thinkers. Instead I suspect that N Lincs elected for another cycle of the same old, same old!!

Just back from holiday, so those of you who have direct messaged me, no conspiracy, I was just on holiday. Paul, So following on from recent events and your recent allegation, communicated to NLC Labour councillor Andrea Davison. Do I assume that you won't take kindly to an article perhaps along the lines of "Corruption in the politics of Scunthorpe - does it reach beyond Moreley?" Or something to that effect!!

Bill, If you have an article which is a statement of fact and is not a personal attack on an individual then please feel free to share. It would be good to see some original work from you as opposed to just comments on other's work, like many I do sometimes struggle to follow your statements and feel that you leave a lot "unsaid". You'll recall that on many occasions in the past I've encouraged you to explain further what you mean with a lot of your references. Just make sure you follow the site guidelines and understand the disclaimer at the bottom of the page before your press the post button.

Visit Scunthorpe is North Lincolnshire's only truly independent, non commercial, community news web site.

Established in January 2010 we have lots of members with a wide range of views who all contribute independently with articles of their own.

You won't find dozens of adverts covering our site, or some poor attempt to promote local business services under the guise of offering a community service.

Here on VisitScunthorpe we are interested in just one thing, building an online community which is representative of the people of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.

Paul. Founder Visit Scunthorpe.

How it Works

If you would like to have the ability to add articles and comments to Visit Scunthorpe then all you need to do is sign up with a valid email address for an account. This is free, your email address is confidential and we don't send out spam emails.

Once you've completed the sign up then you are free to post and comment on well... pretty much anything, we just have some basic civilised rules to prevent people from inciting violence, hatred or making individual attacks.
