Man Injured After Van Stolen

Police are appealing for help in locating a blue coloured Peugeot Estate vehicle, following an incident that happened on Moorwell Road, Scunthorpe at 12:48hrs today 1st December 2011.

Police were called following reports of a man being knocked over, by a white coloured transit van.The 43-year-old man, who was the owner of the white transit van, was attempting to stop it being stolen when he was injured. He was taken by ambulance to Scunthorpe General Hospital, where he is receiving treatment for serious injuries.

The offender then drove the van for a short distance before abandoning it on Hoylake Road, Scunthorpe at around 13:08hrs.

Witnesess have told police the offender was then seeing getting into, what is believed to have been a 56 plate blue coloured Peugeot Estate, which drove off at speed.

Police are appealing for help in locating the Peugeot, which may have travelled outside of the Scunthorpe area this afternoon. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information in connection with the vehicle is asked to call Humberside Police tel 01724 274140 quoting log 260 01 December 2011.
