Speaking of God, as one does, if it is clear that we are all generally agreed that there is a Lord God Almighty who alone created the heavens and earth with His peoples, it begs certain questions.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
We are also agreed that God is a God of unconditional love to all people.
I personally some times have difficulty in considering the Christian faith belief that the way to God is through His Son Jesus Christ and through Him to Heaven.
As Jesus only arrived in this world some two thousand plus years ago, what has become of the billions of people that have come and gone before Jesus or Christianity was known.
Also, what is the way to Heaven for those people who do not follow the Christian faith and have never heard of Jesus? How do they get into heaven?
Whilst I appreciate that there are many answers to my thoughts and I am sure that out there are many people still looking for something other than blind faith. Is this to much and the belief in a Lord God Almighty is enough and leave it that.
Or can it possibly be that when we all get to our life on the other side that the God of unconditional love will not sit in judgement of His creations and (give or take some slight sorting out for MANS imperfections on earth) that is the spiritual life for eternity, irrespective of the Christian or any other religious belief here on earth?

Neil Eyre in his comments on my post, asks what is the point of it? Well it is certainly not meant as anything to do with preaching, especially of religion.

Obviously the post is not meant to be in the “Politics on Visit Scunthorpe” section but probably more appropriately should have been in included in the “National Views section”. I apologise for that.
That being said, my post shows as always in my life, that I have been seeking answers to the meaning of the Christian philosophy and the bigger picture of life itself.
I did think and I am sure that “out there” there are people who have found these answers and I am interested in hearing their points of view.
The problem is that the answers out there are many and varied and whilst I have my own views, I consider they are probably quite narrow and require to be stimulated by wider thought.
Nothing more than that Neil. No ulterior motives intended.
I was, however, interested in you quoting the, “Book of Deuteronomy” as a discrediting point of God, as God not being a God of Love.
As you are aware the Book of Deuteronomy is from the Old Testament which covers the original period of the basic Jewish faith and is considered by historians, academics and religious leaders as not a fully correct interpretation of the writings of the period.
Therefore, as you are aware, in 1979 the bible was brought up to date and published as a New International Version NIV by a team of top international Scholars and is renowned for its combination of accuracy and clarity of language, However, the Old Testament is the history of the Jews, their version of the creation of life and their way of regarding God.
The New Testament which is “Christianity” is how Christians see God as “loving unconditionally” not “angry” as the Jews did.
