Quibell Park stages the Good Dog Day
Hundreds of owners and their canine companions are expected to attend the tenth annual event which aims to promote responsible dog ownership. Dogs of all ages, shapes and sizes will be vying for prizes in contests ranging from waggiest tail to the saddest eyes. There are also prizes to be won in show classes for veterans, adults, puppies and rescue dogs, there's also a children's poop-a-scoop race.
Numerous stalls from the RSPCA and other organisations which will be on hand to issue valuable help and advice to dog owners, there'll also be refreshments and stalls selling doggy treats and giftware. This year's theme is the 'collar and tag' and the first 50 dogs arriving at the show will receive a free collar and tag.
Organisers are hoping for a bumper crowd this year as past events have clashed with the Appleby Frodingham Childres Gala. The Good Dog Day will be held at Quibell Park on Sunday between 11am and 4pm and admission is free.

Visit Scunthorpe is North Lincolnshire's only truly independent, non commercial, community news web site.
Established in January 2010 we have lots of members with a wide range of views who all contribute
independently with articles of their own.
You won't find dozens of adverts covering our site, or some poor attempt to promote local business services under the guise of offering a community service.
Here on VisitScunthorpe we are interested in just one thing, building an online community which is representative of the people of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.
