15 October 2010 by Hamst

Brigg Tourist Information Centre is celebrating after their staff were rated amongst the best in the country by VisitEngland. VisitEngland is the strategic leadership body representing the public and private sector stakeholders of English Tourism. It works in partnership with VisitBritain, the Regional Development Agencies and local authorities, and the private sector, creating a national tourism strategy, optimising marketing investment, and developing the visitor experience across England. VisitEngland works with tourism businesses to enhance and drive excellence in the quality of the visitor experience. At the heart of this is VisitEngland's portfolio of Quality Assessed Schemes which currently asses more than 24,000 accommodation businesses and more than 800 visitor attractions across nine schemes. Each year VisitEngland, conducts a series of mystery shopper tests at nearly 300 tourist information centres (TICs) across the country. Staff at the TICs are then given scores for how they treat visitors and how the respond to telephone calls and emails. VisitEngland gave the Brigg team a score of 93.6 per cent and put them in ninth place out of a total 296 centres that were tested. This is a magnificent achievement for North Lincolnshire Councils Brigg TIC and confirms the top quality service and customer care offered by the people working there. The assessors comments said a very good welcome was provided and a consistently good level of customer care was noted throughout the visit. The top ten VisitEngland TICs are: 1. Gloucester 2. Mission Statement

Visit Scunthorpe is North Lincolnshire's only truly independent, non commercial, community news web site.

Established in January 2010 we have lots of members with a wide range of views who all contribute independently with articles of their own.

You won't find dozens of adverts covering our site, or some poor attempt to promote local business services under the guise of offering a community service.

Here on VisitScunthorpe we are interested in just one thing, building an online community which is representative of the people of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.

Paul. Founder Visit Scunthorpe.

How it Works
