Young Fashion Retailer of the year 2011

25 November 2011 by Paul Rhoades

Excellent news for Scunthorpe, as local fashion retailer Fallen Hero wins an outstanding accolade once again putting Scunthorpe on the map for all the right reasons.

Fallen Hero is owned and managed by Des Comerford who is not only a successful businessman in his own right, but is also the chairman of the Keep Scunthorpe Alive campaign aimed at promoting independent businesses and retailers in the town, and attracting shoppers to the town centre as opposed to out of town shopping centres.

Managing Director of Fallen Hero Des Comerford said “We are delighted to receive the Drapers award for Young Fashion Retailer of the Year for the United Kingdom, this award is the highest accolade that any fashion retailer could possibly receive, Drapers are the fashion bible for our industry. To be recognised for our achievements alongside Harrods who won Department Store of the Year, Diesel who won Marketing Initiative of the Year and Fred Perry for Young Fashion Brand of the year is an outstanding tribute to our contribution to the fashion industry" He continued to say "Myself and my son Darren Comerford, a Director of Fallen Hero, are very proud to receive this award not only for our company but for the whole of Scunthorpe"

Caroline Nodder, Editor-in-chief of Drapers said “The Drapers Fashion Awards recognised and celebrated a diverse mix of businesses from high street chains, to department stores to boutiques and brands. What they all share is a bold and brave attitude to selling fashion in today’s changing climate. All have recorded strong success in the last 12 months proving that they are leaders within the fashion sector and a role model for others.”

Mission Statement

Visit Scunthorpe is North Lincolnshire's only truly independent, non commercial, community news web site.

Established in January 2010 we have lots of members with a wide range of views who all contribute independently with articles of their own.

You won't find dozens of adverts covering our site, or some poor attempt to promote local business services under the guise of offering a community service.

Here on VisitScunthorpe we are interested in just one thing, building an online community which is representative of the people of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.

Paul. Founder Visit Scunthorpe.
