Having danced from the age of 3, Julie has experience of many styles of dancing including tap, ballet, modern, latin, ballroom, disco, and has completed IDTA and NCDTA examinations. Julie started line dancing 9 years ago, and has gone on to win two world line dancing titles, four Europeans and a host of other regional and national titles in tap, ballet, modern and disco.

Julie brings her winning experience to the baths hall in September with a free taster session aimed at adults aged 18 and over. She will be teaching a range of dance styles including Cha-cha-cha, jive, waltz and swing aimed at beginners, improvers and intermediate level dancers. There will also be social dancing between each of the instructed sessions.

Julie will be offering two free instructed taster sessions on the 4th of September for people to come along to the Baths Hall and try. Sessions will run as follows:

  • Beginners: 7.00pm to 7.45pm (No previous experience is needed)
  • Improvers to Intermediates: 8.30pm to 9.15pm
Social dancing is available between instructed sessions, so bring a friend or few, enjoy a dance, and relax and chat in the wonderful surroundings of Scunthorpe’s most prestigious venue.

Julie says "The thing I love most about line dancing is its versatility. Line dancing classes today are unique in that they allow you to learn about a wide range of different dance styles and motions all in one class. why restrict your self to just one form of dance? Besides, Line dancing is a fun and social form of exercise, many friendships have been forged in my classes.

Exercise like line dancing can increase your life-span, improve muscle tone and co-ordination, increase your energy levels and memory skills, and reduce stress as its so much fun."

Julie will then run weekly classes on Tuesday nights from the 11th of September onwards.
