Well yesterday was a busy but very fun day, what did you enjoy most about the Olympic Torch visit?

Just editing up the last set of photo's from Lizzie Tuvey to go in to the album on our main VisitScunthorpe.com gallery.

It's also great to see members on the facebook group and also following @VisitScunthorpe on twitter, great to have you on board, if you've not found our facebook group yet, here's a link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/194989023874592

If you love Scunthorpe and are proud of your town and the sense of community we achieved yesterday why not join and add a few friends to this group, it would be nice to see it being as popular as our main web site.

Yesterday we worked with the genius which is KNOW Media filming the torch from the top of Breeze Inn and also at the museum and the pods for a short documentary they are making exclusively for VisitScunthorpe.Com. By last night I'd seen about the first 30 second of and it is looking utterly fantastic. Something to make you proud of the town, and something which you will be able to share here with friends and relatives.

To me the best thing about yesterday was seeing 27,000 people lining the streets of Scunthorpe to share a once in a life time event, it really was great to see the community gathering in such a manner.

If you've not already seen our main gallery then check out the link below and please add what ever photos you want to share, it would be great to see them.

Mission Statement

Visit Scunthorpe is North Lincolnshire's only truly independent, non commercial, community news web site.

Established in January 2010 we have lots of members with a wide range of views who all contribute independently with articles of their own.

You won't find dozens of adverts covering our site, or some poor attempt to promote local business services under the guise of offering a community service.

Here on VisitScunthorpe we are interested in just one thing, building an online community which is representative of the people of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.

Paul. Founder Visit Scunthorpe.

How it Works

If you would like to have the ability to add articles and comments to Visit Scunthorpe then all you need to do is sign up with a valid email address for an account. This is free, your email address is confidential and we don't send out spam emails.

Once you've completed the sign up then you are free to post and comment on well... pretty much anything, we just have some basic civilised rules to prevent people from inciting violence, hatred or making individual attacks.
