Visit Scunthorpe Pub Quiz Launched

13 May 2012 by Visit Scunthorpe Editors

For quite some time, people have been saying to us that we should organise a "social" event for our online community and clamber out from behind our collective monitors and mobiles to meet up in person.

Well this is your chance not only to meet the people you tweet, but its also an opportunity to celebrate all things Scunthorpe and let your local knowledge shine through!

We've organised an evening with the newly re-opened Bridge Hotel in Scunthorpe (now Breeze Inn) and Nic the new owner there has promised us some special drinks promotions on the night.

Our quiz is going to feature questions about Scunthorpe past and present, so if you're a regular to our web site then you'll have a good idea as to what to expect, but do also make sure you keep an eye on our twitter feed and our Scunthorpe News facebook group as we might be dropping a few hints about a couple of questions over the next week or so!

You can enter either as an individual, or as a team of up to 4 people, there's a guaranteed £35 of prize money up for grabs with an entry fee of £2 per person and possible spot prizes on the night.

We're also very excited about our Picture round "Where's This" where we think we've been a bit clever with some close ups of popular buildings which you have to name and locate.

So if you fancy the chance to prove your local knowledge, then get your self and / or some mates down to the Line Bar at the Breeze Inn (former Bridge Hotel) on the 24th May at 8:30, its going to be a fun night.

Mission Statement

Visit Scunthorpe is North Lincolnshire's only truly independent, non commercial, community news web site.

Established in January 2010 we have lots of members with a wide range of views who all contribute independently with articles of their own.

You won't find dozens of adverts covering our site, or some poor attempt to promote local business services under the guise of offering a community service.

Here on VisitScunthorpe we are interested in just one thing, building an online community which is representative of the people of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.

Paul. Founder Visit Scunthorpe.

How it Works

If you would like to have the ability to add articles and comments to Visit Scunthorpe then all you need to do is sign up with a valid email address for an account. This is free, your email address is confidential and we don't send out spam emails.

Once you've completed the sign up then you are free to post and comment on well... pretty much anything, we just have some basic civilised rules to prevent people from inciting violence, hatred or making individual attacks.
