THE LILACS AND SCOTTER HOUSE NLC FIASCO

23 July 2011 by GaryDay2011

As a member of the public I would normally have attended a North Lincolnshire Council extraordinary meeting to witness the debated agenda as in the case of The Lilacs and Scotter House.  However after long thought and after previously openly questioning the Labour Group’s reasoning for their non-attendance I considered it a waste of time to do so. My reasoning for my decision was:

I had no wish to witness another public expense Rob Waltham self-promotion roadshow.

Without credible opposition challenge to the items on the agenda, there was no debate to be had.

PITWOOD HOUSE 2

Information I became aware of gave me a better understanding of the Labour Group’s reasoning behind the stance they chose to take.

Any vote taken on the Agenda items that I would have witnessed had I have been there,  would have resulted in a worthless bias result in favour of Rob Waltham’s dictated course of action in all matters relating to his Conservative endorsed cabinet position and the areas relating to it.  I.E: The Lilacs and Scotter House on this occasion.

I had no wish to witness the implementation of an unjustifiable unwarranted course of action that is being ratified at the behest of an individual who is plainly of the view that this type of support and its value is worthless.  This is proven by Councillor Waltham’s electoral efforts in leading the way in promoting the Conservative Group’s priority to “Close Children’s Homes and invest in Foster carers” on electoral literature he sanctioned.

I could cite more reasons but I won’t,  but what I will say is that I comment on this subject in more detal on my Blog.

Established in January 2010 we have lots of members with a wide range of views who all contribute independently with articles of their own.

You won't find dozens of adverts covering our site, or some poor attempt to promote local business services under the guise of offering a community service.

Here on VisitScunthorpe we are interested in just one thing, building an online community which is representative of the people of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.

Paul. Founder Visit Scunthorpe.
