Sam Cam gunning for Cawsey

08 April 2010 by Paul Rhoades

Demonstrating the determination the Tories have to take Brigg and Goole away from the Labour Party, the Tories have flown in Sam Cammeron - David Cameron's wife to have a stroll around the park and talk to the locals. Brigg + Goole is 69th on the Tories hit list of marginals which they are hoping to make gains on. Labour incumbent Ian Cawsey does look threatened by this, and his close association with and support of his friend Elliot Morley through the expenses saga's not put him in favour with some of the locals. Combine this with the hunting lobby and the rural nature of the area and Labour really do look like their on the back foot, perhaps Prezza and his 1 man battle bus should come to Brigg, that would be entertaining if nothing else. Considering Mr Cawsey's majority was a slim 3,217 in the last election its a marginal seat anyway we can expect to see a lot more top tories dropping in. Did you see Sam Cam today? If so leave us your thoughts here, all welcome. An interesting point to note is that Brigg has just become famous for being the first individual political appointment of Samantha Cameron. The real Irony is that the park she is visiting was refurbished by a labour council using Labour government grants, perhaps some one should ask her what tory policy on recreation grounds is being as she's showing an interest in one?

Mission Statement

Visit Scunthorpe is North Lincolnshire's only truly independent, non commercial, community news web site.

Established in January 2010 we have lots of members with a wide range of views who all contribute independently with articles of their own.

You won't find dozens of adverts covering our site, or some poor attempt to promote local business services under the guise of offering a community service.

Here on VisitScunthorpe we are interested in just one thing, building an online community which is representative of the people of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.

Paul. Founder Visit Scunthorpe.
