Robbery At Rowland Road Store

A robbery to place early this morning at the H&S Foodstore on Rowland Road in the Frodingham area of the town. A man is believed to have been threatened with a weapon as he opened the store at around 4:45am, the assailant is said to have stolen a small quantity of cash from the shop before running off past the nearby chip shop.
He is described as white, around 5ft 4in tall, aged between 20 and 25-years-old and of thin build. He was wearing dark-coloured clothing and a balaclava.

 

 

Witnesses are asked to contact Humberside Police on 101, quoting log number 77 of 18/11/11.

Detectives in Scunthorpe are appealing for witnesses following a serious incident which happened during the early hours of this morning (Friday 18 November 2011).

A man was allegedly threatened as he opened the H&S Foodstore on Rowland Road in Scunthorpe at around 0445hrs today. The suspect, who is thought to have been a white male wearing a balaclava at the time, assaulted the man before running off down by the side of a nearby chip shop having stolen a small quantity of cash from the business premises.

An investigation into this incident has been launched and a crime scene set up around the location.

Detective Insp John Symes said: "This is a serious incident in which a local businessman was threatened and assaulted by the offender who is thought to have had a weapon at the time although thankfully he was not seriously injured.

"The offender then ran off past the nearby chip shop having stolen some money.

"We are in the early stages of our investigation so I would ask for anyone with information to come forward as it may help to identify the man involved."
