People will not failed to have noticed the road resurfacing programme is underway around the town, various roads have been identified as been in need of repair and some roads have already had a new surface applied.
In Bottesford two roads which were identified as being in need of repair were both Quebec Road and Goodwood. Signs were put up on the approach to each road warning residents that resurfacing would take place from 4th July. The local Labour group even posted letters to residents informing them dates as being the 6th & 7th July for Quebec Road and 8th July for Goodwood.
Residents rightly removed their cars from the roads on the respective days in anticipation of the resurfacing teams moving in. The signs disappeared and the resurfacing teams have yet to show up, there’s been no letters of explanation from the local Labour group as to why there was a ‘no show’ by the resurfacing teams and most residents are unsure as to what is happening.

Bottesford Ward Councillor Steve Swift has said, “ It has slipped back in the programme to allow invasive gas utilty and some drop crossing works to be complete. Works will now be undertaken on Quebec Road towards the end of July and advance information signs will be placed at an appropriate time prior to the works.”
This has left some resident puzzled because although gas main works are being undertaken in the area the two roads mentioned aren’t scheduled to have any gas main works done on them. Further more it begs the question, should residents believe the next set of signs that appear or letter that gets posted when the previous weren’t honoured or rescinded.
