The Ironstone Centre viewed along Allanby Street.
The trust and its partners had asked the people of North Lincolnshire what they would like this new development to be called. The competition generated a great response and the panel of judges had a hard job selecting the winner with some really creative suggestions.
Amongst the name suggested were;
The Stanford Centre - After Drs Russell and Cuthbert Stanford. Very well known and loved GPs in the 40s, 50s and 60s who practiced in nearby Frodingham Road.
The Forget-me-Not Health and Social Care Centre - In homage to Scunthorpes town gardeners, also meaningful name to people in ill health.
The Yager Centre - After Dr Yager, a well- known GP in Scunthorpe for many years.
Crosby Medical Centre.
West End Medical Centre.
West Side Medical Centre.
West Ward Medical Centre.
Westfield Medical Centre.
The Paragon Centre,
Paragon House - Suggests using Paragon which means Supreme Excellence.
Smith Hall - Celebrating Liz Smith and Sheridan Smith two of our most famous modern day show business personalities both with excellent reputations and brilliant comedians people Scunthorpe can be proud to claim as their own. It also retains an echo of the old Baths Hall.
Town View Medical Centre.
The Liz Smith Centre - After the great actress originally from our good town of Scunthorpe.
The Kirk Centre - After the well-known family of Councillors over recent years doing such sterling work.
Dr Babi Das Gupta - He 'pioneered' services for geriatrics in North Lincolnshire.
Riley's Centre - A business that went on to become one of Scunthorpes leading industries started in the terrace houses that used to stand here up until they were knocked down in the early 1980s.
So how about naming it after the Riley's who started the crisp business from here.
Escumetorp Medical Centre - The town appears in the Domesday Book (1086) as Escumetorp, which is Old Norse for "Skuma's homestead", a site which is believed to be in the town centre close to where the present-day Market Hill is located.
Jacklin Medical Centre - To honour Tony Jacklin, who is a true blue Scunthorpe Lad done well. He is our truly home grown boy, having been born and raised in Crosby.
Taylor Medical Centre - Graeme Taylor who grew up around the Crosby area but was unfortunately born in Worksop, but he does still have a big involvement with Lincolnshire.
Pleasence Medical Centre - To honour the fact of Donald Pleasence, the actor, lived on Fox St, in his youth, but unfortunately was not born in Scunthorpe.
The Valetudo Centre - Latin meaning of Valetudo is Good Health.
The Ironstone Centre - Strength and durability
In the end the judges decided on The Ironstone Centre suggested by Isle of Axholme resident Tina Tabrah as it really summed up the spirit of the new development.
Once the building is complete, the new sign will read: The Ironstone Centre Health and Social Care for North Lincolnshire emphasising the huge range of health, social care and community services to be offered from the facility.

Visit Scunthorpe is North Lincolnshire's only truly independent, non commercial, community news web site.
Established in January 2010 we have lots of members with a wide range of views who all contribute
independently with articles of their own.
You won't find dozens of adverts covering our site, or some poor attempt to promote local business services under the guise of offering a community service.
Here on VisitScunthorpe we are interested in just one thing, building an online community which is representative of the people of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.
