A popular Scunthorpe petrol station is set to change ownership on 13th May 2011.

The Westcliff filling station, at the corner of Burringham Road & Scotter Road which is currently operated by Shell UK has been sold MRH (GB) Limited. MRH is the UK's leading independent owner and operator of petrol filling stations having grown rapidly since it was established as Malthurst in 1997. Headquartered in Essex, MRH has a portfolio of approximately 300 sites throughout England and Scotland. It also operates a wholesale fuel business distributing to commercial and domestic customers
In a statement released by Shell UK the company says, �� from time to time the company reviews its sites� and it was deemed the Westcliff service station no longer fitted in with its� portfolio�. Customers have been assured any vouchers and points card can still be used at their Brumby service station on Ashby Road.
