NLC's Vendetta against the motorist continues

North Lincolnshire Councils Vendetta Against the Motorist

I see that North Lincolnshire Council’s vendetta against the motorist has hit a new low, I went the hospital today for a quick visit to drop off some things for a friends relative only to find yellow lines have been painted everywhere, no more spaces in around the hospital or side streets (apart from the always full half hour slots in front), is NLC that desperate for revenue that they are going to hit the motorist for even more fines (it has been a money spinner for NLC since taking over parking wardens duties) as they try to park up for a couple of minutes, don’t say you can park for free in the car park for a while, there are never any spaces free due to the shortage of them especially since the car park down the ramp alongside the railway has been given over to staff (who still have to pay) due them not being able to get into work on time as they spent so much time trying to find spaces.

Parking at the hospital has always been poor; when they built the new block it should have had 2 or 3 floors of underground parking just like they would in a modern world but Scunthorpe being akin a third world country in its mentality believing everything its Dictators tell them we have this vendetta running so blindly that it is beyond reason.

Those Dictators being new Liebour at the time sent out a mandate to all councils to create congestion in towns and cities so that when the populous complained they could bring in congestion charging just like London and like they just tried and failed in Manchester, why else narrow a dual carriage way down to single lane or paint cycle lanes on the side of the road when empty footpaths go unused, why do these cycle lanes just fizzle out with no official route for said cyclist to follow from then on, why block off lay-bys (and put cycle lane through it), why alter traffic light timings so that only one lane an flow and such short timings its like a GP1 race trying to get out, why have Speed humps on main roads, if it’s a 30mph limit then one should be able to do it with out sustaining damage to ones car, if this is not a vendetta I don’t know what is.

People will always want to use there cars, in this day and age time is the most costliest commodity going or to be more precise workers time so anything that will prevent workers from reaching destinations quickly so as to be more efficient has got to be bad, so to expect people to use public transport or cycle everywhere and leave the second most valuable asset set at home whilst they wend there way slowly around town in a bus trying to carry groceries and shopping etc. instead of being able to just nip in and out just shows how out of touch NLC is with reality and its voters.

Anyone that starts moaning about Global warning ought to watch the C4 documentary “the Great Global Warming Scandal” now on you tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImiFfGm96bI

Stop killing the car or bring back Horses and then complain about the amount of Horse S**t on the road.

Speaking of horse shit....

I have a dog, we go for walks, she craps.

Some times prolifically.

I pick it up, put it in a bag, and carry it, some times for what seems like miles (if you've ever carried a steaming turd you'll be with me on this one, trust me).

However I am not complaining, turd management is one of the less glamorous aspects of dog ownership but a necessary one. My point here though is that fucking horse drivers come wondering down my street dropping turds the size of my dog.

Do they stop to pick them up? Do they bollocks, they just look down their noses and say put it on your roses like they are doing you a favour.

A moment's thought would reveal that there are two separate issues. There may be a lack of parking spaces at the hospital, but I don't think the hospital is run by North Lincs council. Direct your ire at the NHS. If the yellow lines have just been painted, this on the command of a TORY council - it's nice to blame everything on New Labour, but complete rubbish in this case. The same TORY council are making the car park for shoppers in Brigg free - shows what their priorities are.

As a regular visitor to Scunthorpe hospital I don't find any trouble parking in designated "on street parking" as long as it is an hour, if longer I get lifts back and forth from family and friends. Sounds like "The Voice of Reason" has no such things going for him.
I use cycleways regular when i feel fit and find them quite good round Scunthorpe, except for selfish motorist who think they are masters of the road and we are subservient to them. I don't agree with people cycling on pavements when there are cycleways there either, just to put a balanced view.
If motorist didn't speed there would not be a need for sleeping policeman, so the motorist are their worst enemies as far add I'm concerned.
i agree with Dave the hospital parking is not run by NLC but the side streets are policed by NLC traffic wardens and whilst on about that I find it easier to park in town centre on "on street parking" since traffic wardens came into being then ever before as the parking was dominated by people who work in business's around the town centre.
