On Friday, Nic Dakin, MP for Scunthorpe officially opened Know-Media, a vibrant new media production company set up in Scunthorpe town centre.

Regular readers will be familiar with their work, as some of the team were the team behind the most excellent Scunthorpe Steal video, produced last year by Luke Drewery. (review here - http://bounceit.info/?i=y9)

Know media provide the usual range of wedding and corporate photographic and video services, but also work on music videos and documentaries and will tonight premier their latest work “Lets rock cancer”, who work with a range of cancer and cancer charities including the Yorkshire Cancer Centre, Mcmilan and Lindsey Lodge.

Following the opening ceremony, Nic Daking told Visit Scunthorpe “I was delighted to join the team of Know Media for the launch of their business on Mary Street. Here's a group of positive young men with a great new creative business in photography and video. I wish them the very best with their enterprise.”

Certainly looking at the creative flair and fantastic production quality of their work it would seem that any one making use of their services will indeed get something very special.

When we asked Know media what their motivation was for establishing the business, Pete Hewes told us “First and foremost it was our passion and the fact that we love producing work and sharing with people. The feedback we received was always positive and so we decided to take the next step and the town centre was the only realistic choice for ourselves.”

It’s certainly very positive to see such a young vibrant business opening up in the town, and we would like to wish them the very best of luck with their business venture and hope that seeing their commitment to the town other young entrepreneurs will follow their lead. Further contact details are available from their web site http://www.know-media.co.uk/

Mission Statement

Visit Scunthorpe is North Lincolnshire's only truly independent, non commercial, community news web site.

Established in January 2010 we have lots of members with a wide range of views who all contribute independently with articles of their own.

You won't find dozens of adverts covering our site, or some poor attempt to promote local business services under the guise of offering a community service.

Here on VisitScunthorpe we are interested in just one thing, building an online community which is representative of the people of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.

Paul. Founder Visit Scunthorpe.
