Fencing Around Central Park Fountain

25 November 2010 by Hamst

Passing through Central Park seeing the fountain undergoing a revamp one can't fail to notice that the whole area around the fountain has been fenced off. Nothing wrong with that, health and safety etc, what I do have concerns about is that the path around the fountain has also been fenced off forcing people to walk across the grass. This causes a particular problem when walking from the direction of Glanville Avenue across the Kingsway through the park via the fountain towards the rear of Pittwood House and vice-versa, this seem to be the favoured thoroughfare throught the park. People are naturally cutting across the grass, which will, given the time of year, quickly become a quagmire. Surely it would have been a better idea to move the fencing to the inside of the path at this particular part around the fountain. What are your thoughts? Revamp of Central Park fountain, Scunthorpe 25th November 2010 on Twitpic In the picture above would it be a better idea to move the fencing on the left to the inside of the path to allow peolpe to walk around using the path rather than cutting across the grass which will, in time, become a quagmire?

Visit Scunthorpe is North Lincolnshire's only truly independent, non commercial, community news web site.

Established in January 2010 we have lots of members with a wide range of views who all contribute independently with articles of their own.

You won't find dozens of adverts covering our site, or some poor attempt to promote local business services under the guise of offering a community service.

Here on VisitScunthorpe we are interested in just one thing, building an online community which is representative of the people of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.
