Excellent Face Book Group on Scunthorpe

Just been checking out one of my favourite Facebook Groups called "Scunthorpe Memories" if you know and love Scunthorpe then you'll love this group.
Its a fantastic example of on-line community collaboration and has been set up by a couple of local guys who have lots of photos and memories to share. If there's an award for such a thing, this group should get it!
It's packed full of photographs and post cards of the town dating back pretty much to the advent of photography, and a massive amount of work has been put in by some members not just uploading and describing the photos but also in researching and answering questions.

Not only are they posting lots of interesting information about the area, but they have even started organising events in conjunction with Love night club on Doncaster Road.
If you fancy a night of 90's memories then pop along to love on the 9th July and join their celebration of "REMEMBERING THE 90s, a decade on, with Scunthorpe Memories & Henry Afrikas"
Founded by Paul Stebbing and Kevin Kaye just a few months ago the site has over 4,000 members and hundreds of photographs, posts and memories of what is in my humble opinion a great place to live, work and bring up your kids.
So very good to see Scunthorpe shown in such a positive light, keep up the good work guys!

How it Works
If you would like to have the ability to add articles and comments to Visit Scunthorpe then all you need to do is sign up with a valid email address for an account. This is free, your email address is confidential and we don't send out spam emails.
Once you've completed the sign up then you are free to post and comment on well... pretty much anything, we just have some basic civilised rules to prevent people from inciting violence, hatred or making individual attacks.
