Child missing

I've received a report that a child is missing in the bottesford area of scunthorpe the police helicopter has been out looking for her, allegedly a Holme valley pupil, year 5, female, aged approx 10 yrs old.
Update:
The missing girl was found by police at approximately 7:45 this evening following a lengthy search by police and members of the community. The child failed to return from school, and was last seen outside the school on her bike.
Following her absence, the police helicopter was scrambled and started combing the area immediately around the school and Bottesford beck looking for her. In addition to the helicopter there were several police in cars and vans and also making patrols along cycle paths and wooded areas on bikes.
In addition to the police response, approximately 30 residents also combed the area around the school, Timberlands and out towards lake side retail park and the ponds at Ashby Ville.
The news when it broke over the police radio at approximately 7:45 this evening offered great comfort and relief to those out searching for her.

This is the sort of instant reporting that is under used, but could and should be developed to create an Amber Alert system. Pity the police come up with the Hairy Hand leaflets shoved through open windows, which strangely enough were open during a HOT SUMMER night !!
