It has become quite noticeable of an evening that there seems to be quite a few passenger planes heading for Robinhood airport, this does tend to upset the ambience that the lady of the house and myself have been accustomed to whilst enjoying the odd glass of wine or two when sat outside in the grounds, they come over at various heights and you can hear the hydraulics working on the flaps and the roar of the engines etc, even at 2 am they are still coming in, Relatives down Windsor way have a no fly time for the Heathrow flyers so why can't we.
I cannot remember ever being consulted over this invasion of my airspace and short of shooting the Bally things out of the sky I wondered if this damn racket is to continue or possibly move, can they not fly over the Riddings or Westcliff estates, where the noise is far exceeded by the Chav's trying to blow the door skins off their Nova's with that incessant Boom Booming.
Failing that would a rebate/reduction on our Council Tax bills be to much to ask? as some kind of sweetener for this airborne onslaught, might help to offset the rise in the price of a bottle the decent plonk.
Hopefully yours

Visit Scunthorpe is North Lincolnshire's only truly independent, non commercial, community news web site.
Established in January 2010 we have lots of members with a wide range of views who all contribute
independently with articles of their own.
You won't find dozens of adverts covering our site, or some poor attempt to promote local business services under the guise of offering a community service.
Here on VisitScunthorpe we are interested in just one thing, building an online community which is representative of the people of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.
