DETECTIVES in North Lincolnshire investigating a serious incident that happened at a Post Office on East Common Lane, Scunthorpe are still trying to trace the whereabouts of a man who has absconded from prison.
The incident happened at around 14:50hrs on Monday 21st May when a man entered the Post Office and managed to steal a quantity of cash from within.
During the robbery, two staff members suffered serious injuries which are thought to have been caused when the suspect lashed out at them both with a weapon as they tried to stop him from taking the cash.
The staff members, a man and woman both aged in their 60s, were taken to hospital for treatment.

The suspect is thought to have left the scene on foot taking the cash with him.
Today, Post Office Ltd have confirmed to police that they are offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the robbery at East Common Lane Post Office on 21st May 2012.
Detectives are keen to speak to Eithan TEANBY (40) in connection with the investigation as he may be able to help with inquiries.
Mr Teanby had been on weekend release from HMPHer Majesty's Prison.
North Sea Camp in Boston and is thought to have visited the Scunthorpe area where he still has connections. He was due to return to North Sea Camp on the evening of Monday 21st May but failed to do so and is now at unlawfully at large.
Police are growing concerned as the last sighting of Mr Teanby was at around 16:45hrs on Monday 21st May when he travelled from Scunthorpe to Brigg in a taxi but he has not been seen or made contact with friends, family members or the prison since this time.
Detective Insp John Symes said: "We are growing concerned as it appears Mr Teanby has not been seen or heard from by family members and has now seemingly absconded from HMPHer Majesty's Prison.

"My understanding is that Mr Teanby is currently taking prescription medication and we have concerns that he may not have access to his required dosage.
"We are keen to locate Mr Teanby who is currently unlawfully at large as not only should he be returned to prison but he may also be able to assist us with our ongoing investigation into the robbery at the Post Office on East Common Lane in Scunthorpe that happened at around 14:50hrs on Monday 21st May.
"Two members of staff suffered serious injuries when they tried to stop the suspect from stealing a quantity of cash so it is important that we arrest the person responsible for this incident in order to prevent them from carrying out any further robberies.
"I would urge the public not to approach Mr Teanby as he may present a threat while trying to avoid returning to prison so my plea to the public is a simple one, if you see Mr Teanby or know of his current whereabouts please call police right away."
Eithan is described as white man, 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins tall, of a stocky build and with dark brown greying hair. He was last seen to be wearing a faded navy coloured t shirt, red or brown coloured hooded tracksuit style top, light coloured jeans, a red coloured baseball cap and sand coloured boots. He was carrying a long black holdall. He was not thought to have been wearing spectacles.
Mr Teanby's details have been circulated across all UKUnited Kingdom.
police forces and a number of attempts have been made to locate him in the Scunthorpe, Brigg and Leicester areas but so far he remains at large however he may not be in the North Lincolnshire area any more.
Eithan is not to be approached by members of the public and anyone who may see him is asked to call police right away.
Police are appealing for Eithan or anyone who may know his current whereabouts to contact Humberside Police by calling either 999 or call 101 quoting log 354 of 21 May 2012.
