Scunthorpe & District AC Road Section offer a Beginners Course into Running

How does the Beginners course work?

  • We will follow a walk / run programme, starting with more walking than running, gradually building up over the weeks to more running than walking.
  • Believe us you will not be alone, this run / walk program will introduce you to running and after 10 weeks hopefully you will achieve our target goal of 4 miles without stopping
  • You will be coached by UKA Qualified Coaches and Level 1 Leaders in Running for Fitness.
  • We are a friendly club committed to helping others with a view to running.
  • We will meet at the rear of Brumby Hall, 7.30pm on Tuesday and 7pm Thursday evenings.
  • Your first runs are often more mentally than physically challenging.
  • Please make sure that you can comfortably walk at a brisk pace for 30 minutes three times a week before starting our running course. If in doubt or if you are significantly overweight,
  • please check with your doctor first.
  • Limited to 40 places.

Course commences Tuesday 4th September 2012 for 10 weeks. Venue is the rear of Brumby Hall, on Ashby Road. Registration will be on Thursday 30th August 2012 6.30pm – 8.0pm

To pre register your interest either email roadnewcomers@btinternet.com or send an
enquiry text to 07801928408 or turn up on the registration night.

NOTE. Be prepared for some discomfort during the first 4 weeks!!!!!

Mission Statement

Visit Scunthorpe is North Lincolnshire's only truly independent, non commercial, community news web site.

Established in January 2010 we have lots of members with a wide range of views who all contribute independently with articles of their own.

You won't find dozens of adverts covering our site, or some poor attempt to promote local business services under the guise of offering a community service.

Here on VisitScunthorpe we are interested in just one thing, building an online community which is representative of the people of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.

Paul. Founder Visit Scunthorpe.

How it Works

If you would like to have the ability to add articles and comments to Visit Scunthorpe then all you need to do is sign up with a valid email address for an account. This is free, your email address is confidential and we don't send out spam emails.

Once you've completed the sign up then you are free to post and comment on well... pretty much anything, we just have some basic civilised rules to prevent people from inciting violence, hatred or making individual attacks.
