Calls for new Clock Tower
Written by Russ_R74
A campaign has begun to replace the clock tower which used to stand in the town center, outside what is now known as The Foundry.
Originally built and commissioned by British Steel as a gift to the town, the clock tower provided a focal point in the town center.
The clock tower was removed in the late 1980's when that area of the precinct was redeveloped for the first time since its inception in the 1960.
Sadly the clock tower was removed, and all that remains of it are a few photographs.
At least that was until Russ Radford had the fantastic idea of resurrecting the clock tower, and campaigning for its return!
Russ so far has reproduced some fantastic 3DModels showing his impression of the original, along with some conceptual designs for a new replacement.
What makes Russ' work even more fantastic is that his impression of the original has been taken from just 1 photograph sent to him by a member of the public!
Check out Russ' face book group or post here to get in touch - lets get a new clock tower in Scunthorpe!
